This will have two major effects on the tone:

First, the overall tone gets stronger with more transparent bloom. Second, the typical treble loss that occurs when rolling back the volume is much less, and both the volume and tone controls react more smoothly and more evenly, without the typical hot spots. As a side effect, it’s easier to clean up an overdriven amp by simply rolling back the volume on the guitar a bit. Many of the Fender Master Builders prefer this hook up.

Other features include a ‘55/’57 Tele bridge with steel saddles, a single ply Eggshell White pickguard, Fat 50's Tele wiring, and a rock solid one-piece quartersawn maple neck.

Come to Club Fender to experience it today, or make it yours right here.

Serial # CZ574433

Weight: 6.9 lbs

Finish Package: Journeyman Relic

Finish: Nitro Lacquer

Color: Black Transparent

Pickguard: Eggshell White

Neck Pickup: Handwound 55/56 Tele

Bridge Pickup: Handwound 55/56 Tele

Body: Ash, Sorted for Lightweight

Neck: Quartersawn Maple

Neck Shape: 10/56 "V"

Frets: 21

Fretwire: 6105

Radius: 9.5"

Neck Nut Width: 1.650"

Neck Thickness at 1st Fret: .880"

Neck Thickness at 12th Fret: .980"

Neck Butt Width: 2.200"

Bone Nut

Tuners: Vintage

String Guide: Vintage

Bridge: 55/57 Tele Esquire

Neck Plate: Vintage

Switch: 3 Way

Wiring: Fat 50's Tele

Model# 9231011027

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0789/2433/files/FenLRG_8acd57e2-2dd4-4ebd-ac13-edd34ad5e9ba.jpg?v=1737706814
fender-custom-shop-1965-telecaster-nos-target-3-tone-sunburst-with-case
Fender Custom Shop 1965 Telecaster NOS Target 3-Tone Sunburst

One of the most classic and timeless guitars in the history of guitars, the Fender Telecaster has changed over the years, even back in the earliest days of the 1950's and 1960's. Some things stayed constant, but a lot did change. By 1965, a lot of change was afoot for Fender. What didn't change is the iconic nature of the Telecaster. For this particular Custom Shop piece, we aimed to give birth to a classic, in a classy style. The result is this amaing 1965 Telecaster in Target 3-Tone Sunburst.

While most of what you see out there is a Relic, we chose to do this one as an NOS (New Old Stock) for those that want a perfectly clean brand new guitar. There's no again on this one - it's really about the sound and feel. The 65 "C" neck shape on the rock-sold quartersawn maple is super comfortable and very smooth to play. It's a bit thicker than many other 60's inspired builds that the Custom Shop does (which typically have the 60's Oval C neck shape). This great feeling neck is topped with a dark rosewood fretboard with a 9.5" radius and 6105 frets for easy playability. Those are the only "modern spec" changes we went with - everything else is period correct. The guitar is loaded with Custom Shop 63 Tele pickups, which recreate the early 60's Tele sound that is known and loved by players all over. Whether you need country twang, hard hitting rock bottoms or glistening clean highs, this one gives it to you.

Other features included are the vintage-style tuners and bridge, period correct deluxe black hardshell case, and Certificate of Authenticity. The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop. Also, this is a light one - Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster and Jazz bass - all in the same color, as a matching set. For the colors, we picked unique ones that are rarely ever seen. In this case, it's Desert Sunset, one of the coolest and most vibrant colors that the Custom Shop offers, and one that is rarely seen.

The two-piece alder body sports the iconic shape and wears a Heavy Relic lacquer finish. This gives it the look and feel of a guitar that’s endured serious use over decades, but stood the test of time and only got cooler with age. The Custom Shop really went to town on this one, creating a great example of what a Heavy Relic should be. We were honestly blown away when we opened the case for the first time - not only did they nail it, the result was even more stunning than we expected. Due to how Desert Sunset is created, this guitar ended up looking like a color over color finish treatment. Or perhaps it's color over color over color, because you get silver and red appearing. It's simply unreal. The guitar has the appearance of a vintage Tele that was played heavily over the years, worn in, and looking better than ever, in a color that you'll never otherwise see.

This Custom Shop '63 Telecaster is a testament to their ability to pull off vintage recreations with modern playability. It features a period correct 63 "C" neck shape (a bit thicker than the more commonly seen 60's Oval "C" neck) a flatter radius and bigger fret size, and a mostly otherwise traditional design. We went with a 9.5" radius and Narrow Tall (6105) frets for easy playing and bending - This Custom Shop '58 Tele right here might answer that. And for those that want something truly unique, the finish on this one may seal the deal.

That finish is called Surf Green Sparkle Burst. It's bright, it's vibrant, and it's like nothing like anything you've seen, most likely. We found the inspiration for this color in an article about an old Jazzmaster, and decide to apply it to a Telecaster. Not really knowing how it would turn out (after all, this isn't an official color in the Custom Shop's offerings), we were anxiously awaiting this one for quite a while. When it landed, we took it out of the case and immediately fell speechless. There's no use in describing it when there are photos to do that job - take a look and you will see.

The alder body is lightweight and resonant. This guitar is a great weight - just 7.4 lbs. The lacquer finish with heavy checking gives it a classic, old-school Fender vibe. We chose the Journeyman Relic treatment package, to give it the look & feel of a vintage Tele that has been thoroughly used, but not abused. To further that idea, and to give it the most "broken in feel" we could get, we asked for the finish on the back of the neck to be removed. We started doing this on a lot of guitars and fell in love with the combination. Speaking of the neck, the 59 Esquire C shape is becoming more popular, as it's a similar carve to the 60's Oval C seen on so many Custom Shop guitars, but with a little more "beef" to it. If you're a fan of vintage neck shapes but don't want it too fat, this is a great way to go. Throughout the years, most players have gravitated towards a 9.5" radius and 6105 (narrow tall) frets - so those are the two tweaks that we made on this guitar. The result is a vintage vibe with modern playability.

Custom Shop 56/57 Tele pickups give you full clarity, with enough bite to cut through the mix. We chose them for this guitar because they are amongst our favorites, and feel that these are some of the Custom Shop's best and "truest" vintage sounding pickups. The 56/57 Tele pickups have Alnico 5 magnets, with the bridge position providing the twang and neck position supplying a warm and creamy tone. This is a great combination and perfect for a Tele replicating the sound of that era.

Other features include an Anodized Gold pickguard, mid-50's Tele style bridge with steel saddles, vintage tuners, and a wing string tree. It comes with a Custom Shop blonde case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

We spec'ed this one out ourselves, and were super excited when it arrived - the Custom Shop absolutely knocked it out of the park. We think it's one of the coolest looking Teles we've ever received from them, and we've had a lot. You can see and hear why for yourself by coming to Truetone Music, or by ordering right here to be shipped to your home.

Part # 9231015040

Serial # R143254

Weight: 7.5 lbs

Finish Package: Journeyman Relic

Finish: Nitro Lacquer

Color: Surf Green Sparkle Burst

Pickguard: Anodized Gold

Neck Pickup: Custom Shop 56/57 Tele

Bridge Pickup: Custom Shop 56/57 Tele

Body: Alder

Neck: 1 piece Quartersawn Maple

Tint: Medium

Note: Remove Finish from Back of Neck

Dots: Micarta Black

Neck Shape: 59 Esquire "C"

Frets: 21

Fretwire: Narrow Tall (6105)

Radius: 9.5"

Neck Nut Width: 1.650"

Neck Thickness at 1st Fret: .790"

Neck Thickness at 12th Fret: .970"

Neck Butt Width: 2.200"

Bone Nut

Hardware: Chrome/Nickel

Tuners: Vintage

String Guide: Vintage Wing Tree

Bridge: 54-57 Tele with Steel Saddles

Switch: 3 Way

Wiring: Present Day Tele

Neck Plate: Vintage

Case: Custom Shop Deluxe Blonde

.

Truetone Two Tone Tele

As a Showcase level dealer for the Fender Custom Shop, we really enjoy coming up with new guitars. The mix of classic, vintage styles with modern playability is our favorite thing (not just in guitars, but pretty much in life in general). While that's somewhat common, what we really love is partnering together to create guitars that you don't see out there everyday

That's the case with this "Truetone Two Tone Tele". We started with a 1952 Telecaster as the base model, and then altered it to create our own version. One of the most iconic and popular models in Fender history, the "Blackguard" Telecaster has earned its place as an unmistakable tonal force on countless recordings. front). The result is actually better than what we imagined. Tortoiseshell blocks have never been done on a Teambuilt Telecaster, until now. They also match the tortoiseshell pickguard nicely. This, along with the Olympic White body, creates an all around beautiful aesthetic.

The tinted quartersawn maple neck sports a 60's Oval "C" shaped profile, which is the most popular for Custom Shop builds. It's not too fat to play, and not too skinny - it's the perfect amount of wood to grip. Throughout the years, most players have gravitated towards a 9.5" radius and 6105 (narrow tall) frets - so those are two tweaks that we made on this guitar. The result is a vintage vibe with modern playability.

The guitar is loaded with Custom Shop 63 Tele pickups, which recreate the early 60's Tele sound that is known and loved by players all over. Whether you need country twang, hard hitting rock bottoms or glistening clean highs, this one gives it to you.

In addition, this one has a 60's Tele bridge with threaded saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, a bone nut and a winged string tree. This will have two major effects on the tone:
First, the overall tone gets stronger with more transparent bloom. Second, the typical treble loss that occurs when rolling back the volume is much less, and both the volume and tone controls react more smoothly and more evenly, without the typical hot spots. The wood grain looks great behind the clear finish, and the sparkle is the definition of eye-catching. The silver anodized pickguard ties it all together, and the Abalone inlays are the perfect finishing touch.

This Custom Shop '52 Telecaster is a testament to the Custom Shop's ability to pull off vintage recreations with modern playability. It has a two-piece select ash body that is lightweight, and a solid maple neck with a 52 Style "U" neck shape. We went with a 9.5" radius and Narrow Tall (6105) frets for easy playing and bending - this is one of the most common and popular modifications to vintage-styled guitars. Additionally, we did a slightly slimmed down version of the '52 Style "U" neck shape, to make it a bit more accessible to more players.

For the pickups, we chose a classic combination, one of the most requested in the Custom Shop. The bridge pickup is a '51 Nocaster, created with the original design in mind to accurately provide the twang and shimmer of what the first Teles had. This period correct single coil pickup imparts tight low end and clear, balanced midrange, with a precise top end that can be both smooth and sizzling. The neck position has a Custom Shop Twisted Tele pickup - it gives you classic Tele tone, with added output and a touch of Stratocaster sparkle. The neck pickup is designed for added brightness and glassiness, whereas the bridge pickup wiring provides twang along with warmer, vintage-style tones. With those 2 pickups combined, this Tele gives you everything you need.

Other features include a Custom Shop-exclusive RSD Tele bridge with compensated saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and a silver anodized pickguard. Some call it the perfect "in between" neck. The 59 Esquire C shape is becoming more popular, as it's a similar carve to the 60's Oval C seen on so many Custom Shop guitars, but with a little more "beef" to it. If you're a fan of vintage neck shapes but still like it slim, this is a great way to go.

For the pickups, we went with the Custom Shop 56/57 Tele set. This gives you full clarity, with enough bite to cut through the mix.

Other features include an RSD Tele bridge, which is our favorite and helps the guitar stay intonated. It's topped off with vintage tuning machines, bone nut and a Silver Anodized pickguard. He received his first guitar on his 11th birthday – a gorgeous 3-tone burst Fender Stratocaster. Andy spent his teenage years playing along with his favorite Nirvana, Black Sabbath and Metallica records. He played in local rock bands and by his early 20s he became increasingly interested in experimenting with guitars by modifying pickups and wiring.

In 2009, Andy decided to take this passion for guitar building seriously by enrolling in the Guitar Craft Academy in Hollywood, a 6-month program focused on electric guitars. Within a week of graduating, he started working at Fender in the Jackson Custom Shop dressing frets. From 2013 to 2018, he worked as an assistant to Gretsch Custom Shop Senior Master Builder, Steve Stern. Andy worked with various artists during this period and is very proud of his involvement with the Malcolm Young “Salute” Jet. it's evident that not only does Austin have his own style, but he knows exactly what he's doing. We love how this one came out, not just with the paint job but also the way the binding looks. It's not just about the aesthetics though - as anyone that has played a Custom Shop guitar like this knows, it's just as much (if not more) all about the feel. The neck feels perfectly broken in. As a Masterbuilder, Austin has this art down to a science, and this is one of the best playing Telecasters we've had in a very long time.

We chose to keep this guitar period correct and went with a 52 "U" neck shape, but a slimmed version - Following in his parent’s footsteps, he took up guitar playing at the age of 10 and soon found himself tinkering on it to improve playability and tone. Throughout his teens, Austin developed his building and repair skills and became the local go-to repair tech for many of the bands passing through.

After graduating high school in Saskatoon – Austin saved up and enrolled himself at the Guitar Craft Academy in Hollywood to further his skills and passion for guitar building. Recognizing his talents, immediately after completing the course the school offered him a position as one of their teachers. During these 5 years of teaching guitar building, he met Ron Thorn during an inlay seminar, and shortly after was offered a position at Thorn Guitars. For 11 years Austin crafted boutique electric guitars under the Thorn brand. From raw lumber selection, millwork, CNC operation, fretwork, final assembly – Austin did it all and once again is working shoulder to shoulder with his old friend, now crafting Fender’s finest.

When Austin is not building guitars, he enjoys spending his time with his girlfriend playing music and going camping whenever and wherever he can.

Serial # R147463

Model# 9211002556

Weight: 7.2 lbs

Base Model: 1952 Telecaster Custom

Finish Package: Heavy Relic

Finish: Nitro Lacquer Flash Coat

Color: Purple Sparkle over Taos Turquoise Sparkle

Body: Ash (Sort for Lightweight)

Parchment Binding

Neck: Quartersawn Maple

Tint: Dark

Neck Shape: 52 U

Neck Nut Width: 1.650"

Neck Thickness at 1st Fret: .860"

Neck Thickness at 12th Fret: .920"

Neck Butt Width: 2.200"

Frets: 21

Fretwire: 6105 Narrow Tall

Radius: 9.5"

Dots: Micarta Black

Pickguard: Eggshell

Bridge Pickup: Josefina Handwound 51 Nocaster

Neck Pickup: Josefina Handwound Twisted Tele

Nut: Bone

Tuners: Vintage

String Guide: Vintage

Bridge: Vintage Nocaster with Gatton Saddles

Neck Plate: Vintage

Switch: 3 Way

Case: Custom Shop Tweed

For something you likely have not seen before, we present the Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Bow Tie Telecaster Custom Relic. This guitar represents the creativity coming out of the Custom Shop in the best of ways. This is from a small run of limited edition guitars they did, and was just built earlier this year.

Dressed in in Black on the front, with Natural back & sides and tasteful tortoise binding and gold hardware, the Bow Tie Tele Custom is a thrilling reimagining a mid-century masterpiece. A chambered mahogany body keeps it light, a Bigsby adds expressive vibrato. The Relic finish gives it the look and feel of a guitar that has seen plenty of time on the road.

The roasted quartersawn maple neck features a very comfortable 10/56 V neck profile, topped with a dark AAA rosewood fretboard that sports a vintage compound radius (7.25 - 9.50"). This makes it easy to bend as you go higher, especially with the Narrow Tall (6105) frets.

Where the guitar stands out even more is the pickups chosen for it. You get a killer duo of Lollar single-coil pickups: a B.S.
