Used And Vintage Electric Guitars

We just took in a super cool piece of Fender history: this 1965 Mustang.  It was originally Daphne Blue at birth, but at some point the finish was stripped off so it's just raw, natural woodl (a popular thing to do in the decade known as the 70's).  It's super cool with a unique vibe and plenty of vintage appeal.  The original hardshell case is included too.

The Mustang first debuted in 1964, towards the tail end of the "pre-CBS" era.  It was an effort to upgrade the student line of guitars, and became a gateway to more grown up Fender models like the Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster and Jaguar.  Originally a 22.5" scale, it soon changed to a 24" scale which became more popular.  Over the years, the Mustang has gained status as a cult favorite, and used by players as diverse as Kurt Cobain, Adrian Belew, Frank Black and Bilinda Butcher.

While many vintage Mustangs out there have been modified heavily, this one has not - it's all original other than being upgraded with a Mastery bridge.  After being stripped, the natural wood has worn in a very natural way.....the patina is quite nice, not just on the body but also the pickguard, knobs, and hardware.   The neck has a great smooth feel.

Our repair techs did work done on nut slots, frets and electronics, to make this guitar play great, and sound great too!  The frets still have life in them.  It plays like a vintage guitar - 7.25" radius, vintage frets, etc. and is perfect for anyone that is looking for that.  It's obvious that this guitar got some good playing time on it over the course of the last 5 decades.  It's stood the test of time as it approaches it's 60th birthday and will last much longer!
