Pre Owned Gibson Custom Shop Brian Ray '63 SG Silver Fox With OHSC

We just got in an amazing piece - a Gibson Custom Shop Brian Ray '63 SG! This exquisite instrument was tailor made to the specs of legendary musician Brian Ray, who also happens to be a longtime friend of Truetone.   

Based on a Gibson SG from 1963, it features a stop tailpiece that can be converted to a Bigsby (included) without adding additional holes.  It's loaded with a pair of humbuckers, a '57 Classic Humbucker in the bridge and a Burstbucker 1 in the neck.   This one came to us already converted to the stop bar, so we left it like that, but the Bigsby is included in the case (the Vibramate makes it easy to go go back & forth).  You could put it on later - or if you want, we could do that here for you at no charge.

The mahogany body and neck give you a thick, resonant tone, with a fast playing rosewood fretboard that is in great condition. Speaking of necks, this is an  SG with such a comfortable feeling neck - we noticed that right away when it came in. 

With the '57 Classic Humbucker, you get warm, full, and fat tone. While with the Burstbucker 1 gives you more output with more bite in the midrange and honey-dewed-highs.  It's a perfect pairing - there's good reason why Brian chose these pickups for this guitar!  Pure PAF tone to die for and truly versatile - that's what these are all about.  A Gibson Historic Bumblebee capacitor set is loaded in, with the hardwired harness, completes the electronics and helps to provide the sweet, vintage tone.

This is an SG with killer looks, great feel, and most of all amazing tone.  It comes with the original hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity (signed by Brian Ray).  The guitar is in excellent condition; it's obvious that the previous owner took great care of it.  The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly, and it's ready to go.  It's a special piece and likely to go fast!
