The goal is to provide musicians with instruments that are not only of the highest quality, but also cherished heirlooms and powerful tools for creating music. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTruetone Music is proud to represent PRS in general, but even more so to be a part of a select group of Private Stock dealers.  In the world of guitars, this is the upper echelon, and we take this status seriously.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eEvery guitar is carefully conceived and built with a “one-off” mentality.  All Private Stock woods are carefully housed in “The Vault” just outside of Paul’s office.  Finish is the moment where an instrument takes on much of its personality.  The process is proven to highlight the elegance and figure of the woods chosen.  Inlay is another part of the Private Stock process with nearly infinite options and combinations, as a way to personalize the instrument.  From those materials to the top-shelf pickups and hardware, a Private Stock guitar represents the ultimate in craftsmanship and quality, as well as collectibility.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis PRS Private Stock McCarty 594 (serial # PS11102) is a perfect example.  Truetone Music designed this guitar with PRS to bring something unique to the offering.  We knew it would be amazing, but when it landed, we were blown away.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Curly Maple top has a Rainforest Glow finish that really stands out.  The 3D effect of the wood grain comes through in the photos but is even better in person.   We actually added a note on the initial order, saying \"Please choose the wild-craziest looking top\".  And they did!  We've seen some impressive tops from PRS but this one may be the best we've had.  The rest of the body is Black Limba.  You don't see this often, and when the opportunity to have access to some with exotic figuring, we had to grab it.  We also extended that to the neck, so the entire back of the guitar matches.  The fretboard is Curly Maple, which is something you don't see very often.  This extends to the headstock.  All around, it's a great look, with the highest quality of woods.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo complete the aesthetic, we went with some rather unique inlays for the neck and headstock.  PRS aficionados will recognize the Original Birds style and the Old School Eagle.  We had them done in Maple, stained to match the top, with a Black Mother of Pearl accent.  Other nice touches we added were a Maple truss rod cover to match the fretboard, and Black Limba back plates to perfectly match the back of the body.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe neck has a Pattern Vintage profile, fitting for a McCarty 594, and is very comfortable.  The 22-fret fretboard has a 10\" radius, encouraging easy bending.  You'll stay in tune with Tweaked Phase III Locking tuners (Ebony buttons) and a PRS Two-Piece bridge.  Of course the guitar is setup to play perfectly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe chose the PRS 58\/15 LT (“low turn”) pickups, which are vintage-inspired with exceptional clarity. Designed to capture the sweetness of vintage single coils and the warmth of late 1950’s humbuckers, these pickups are lively and open with focused midrange and balanced treble and bass.  Utilizing PRS's TCI (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) technology, the response of a pickup can be precisely shaped and sculpted with unmatched sonic accuracy. The 3D effect of the wood grain comes through in the photos but is even better in person.   We actually picked out this specific top from a selection that PRS provided out of their exclusive wood vault.  We knew it would look great in Blood Red Glow, as we're confident in their ability to knock the ball out of the park every single time.  And they did!  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe rest of the body is African Mahogany, as is the neck, which is topped with East Indian Rosewood.  The combination of mahogany + maple for the body and mahogany + rosewood is classic in the guitar world.  PRS captures this with the highest quality of woods - it looks beautiful, and of course sounds great.  To complete this, we went with some rather unique choice for the fretboard inlays - they are \"Offset Birds w\/ Outline With Old School Eagle\".  We like how the positioning of the inlays are on the bass side of the fretboard, adding a cool custom touch.  The material is Abalone with a White MOP (Mother of Pearl) accent.  Other nice touches we added were a rosewood truss rod cover to match the fretboard, and Curly Maple binding on the neck.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe neck has a Pattern Thin profile, and is very comfortable.  Over the years, as players have gotten used to slimmer necks, the Pattern Thin profile has become the most popular for PRS.  The 24 fret fretboard has a 10\" radius, encouraging easy bending.  You'll stay in tune with Tweaked Phase III Locking tuners (Ebony buttons) and a PRS Patented Tremolo, Gen III Piezo bridge.  Of course the guitar is setup to play perfectly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNow, about the sound - which of course is a key element.  As beautiful as this guitar is, and how nice it feels, at the end of the day, it needs to be heard.  And when it is, it's something special.  There are two elements:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Private Stock Custom 24 Semi-Hollow is loaded with dual PRS DMO humbuckers.  Since debuting at the beginning of 2025, these pickups have gained a lot of attention.  DMO stands for Dynamic, Musical, Open.  They were spec’d by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS Engineering team. From hands-on research into coveted vintage pickup models to advancements in signal analyzation and “tuning” technology, these pickups incorporate every detail of pickup knowledge gained in years of R\u0026amp;D.  DMO pickups have a “wide open” sound with vocal character, meaning they deliver clear, pleasant-sounding tones across a wide range of frequencies (bass to treble) in each pickup.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis guitar also features a 3-way selector to switch between or blend the magnetic pickups and piezo electronics. Two output jacks provide the ability to plug into an electric or acoustic guitar amp or DI into a soundboard. By utilizing the separate blend control, the tone of the PRS DMO pickups can also be combined with the piezo acoustic sounds through a single output.
