In 2008, National Reso-Phonic's 20th Anniversary Tricone was released to much fanfare.  Players of quality resonators recognized how this was a special instrument, with its art-deco headstock design from 1936.  Anyone that played one, whether it be with a slide or finger-style, was blown away by the sustain, projection, and overall tone.  We definitely were when this one came in the door!

This exact version is rather hard to find.  It seems that only a small number were made in 2008, especially with the non-slotted headstock.  The bound rosewood fretboard on a mahogany plays smoothly and effortlessly, and considering that this is a metal instrument, it's actually quite light at 8.8 lbs.  Everything is original, including the case.

It's been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, and of course sounds amazing!  The condition is great - there is some wear, because it was played (as it should have been), but it was well-taken care of.  Also, the bodies are hand-finished for a natural aged look to emulate the look of the original Duolins.  No two are alike.    Note: there are some finish cracks/peeling at the heel of the neck, but rest assured that those are not cracks in the wood.  We verified this in our shop.  There are no stability issues - it's just cosmetic.

We don't see many of these coming in, especially a 20th Annviersary model like this.  If you're in the market for a high quality resonator, you've found a true winner right here!
