Exclusive Fender Custom Shop Golden Rose Jazzmaster

As part of a close partnership with the Fender Custom Shop, Truetone Music cooked up an exclusive run of guitars, known as "Truetone Color Sets".  It's where we do a quartet of instruments - Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster and Jazz bass - all in the same color, as a matching set.  For the colors, we picked unique ones that are rarely ever seen.  In this case, it's Copper Metallic.

A custom creation from Truetone Music, the "Golden Rose" 59 Jazzmaster came straight from the Custom Shop to Club Fender here on the edge of the west coast.  Like the sun setting on the Pacific Ocean, the golden hue of the Copper Metallic finish is accented by the gold hardware and Anodized Gold pickguard, creating a Jazzmaster unlike any you've seen before.   It has the Journeyman Relic finish with specifically requested heavy checking.  A matching headstock caps it off, a nice touch we added to all of the Golden Rose guitars.

Designed expressly for jazzers (but adopted by surfers) and introduced in 1958, the Jazzmaster combined refined looks with a warm, mellifluous voice and new tremolo system. It evolved over the years, but the 1959 Jazzmaster is known as the most influential model that helped define new musical genres - that's what we went for with this Custom Shop recreation, but with a few twists for modern players.

The two-piece alder body sports the iconic offset curves designed for guitarists who usually played seated, and also wears a Journeyman Relic lacquer finish, giving it the look and feel of a guitar that’s survived over five decades of playing.  We also asked for "heavy checking" for an added touch of aging.  Our friends at the Custom Shop picked out the lightest piece of alder on hand at the time - the result is a Jazzmaster weighing just 7.6 lbs.  And for the color, we chose something rarely seen: Copper Metallic.   Rarely found on a Fender, it creates a gorgeous aesthetic, especially with the anodized gold pickguard and gold hardware.

The tinted, rock solid maple neck sports a period-accurate “ ’62 Jazzmaster”-shaped profile, while the rosewood fingerboard has been updated to 9.5”-radius, with 6105 frets.  So, it's a vintage vibe with a modern feel.  Tied together with ultra-flexible, vintage-style Jazzmaster wiring—including the famous “lead/rhythm” circuit, complete with thumbwheel controls—the vintage styled Jazzmaster single-coil pickups sound mellow and fat; the model’s calling card.  But don't be mistaken, this guitar can definitely rock, as plenty of players have shown with Jazzmasters.

Other features include a vintage bridge, vintage tuners, white pickups covers and knobs, and a matching headstock to further set it apart.  Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.

This Custom Shop "Golden Rose" 1959 Jazzmaster is an exclusive design that sounds and plays as stunning as it looks.  Come to Club Fender at Truetone Music to experience it today, or make it yours right here right now.
