Vintage And Used AmplifiersHere's something you don't see very often:  a Magnatone Matching Lap Steel and Student Model M199-3-J combo.

History:   Between 1947 and 1952, Magna primarily produced 5 watt and 10 watt steel guitar amplifiers. Early models often featured a mother of pearl plastic finish, matching the design of Magnatone build steel guitars. While the guitar and amp were commonly sold together, they could also be purchased separately. Though colors varied, blue and black were the most popular options.

The lap steel is an early model version and plays wonderfully.  It's in great condition, especially considering the age.  We had a few of these years ago (this is from that batch - it sold and now is back again), and this was the best playing one.

This vintage tube amp is a 1 x 8 combo with a matching Oxblood-ish mother of toilet seat covering. All tube circuitry with around 5 watts output. It has a clean and sweet sound available at lower volume,  awesome for practice at home or studio use so that you can get good sounds out of it at lower levels. This unit was hand built in the USA, is in surprisingly nice condition for its age and sounds great!

The amp has a newer three prong power cord installed for extra safety.

This is an interesting piece of history from a legendary company, and falls under the "rare and affordable vintage" category.  Scoop it up before it's gone!
