Built in Fano's US facilities, Oltre Series guitars are made to order – guitarists can choose from over 40 different finishes, as well as a range of distress levels, from new-old-stock (NOS) to heavy. The models can be further visually customized with a variety of pickguard colors and knob styles.  The single-cut shape of the TC6 echoes the traditional String-Through solid body, while breaking tradition by adding new features. The Heavy Distress finish package gives it the feel of a guitar that's been broken in, extensively played and well-seasoned.  It's tastefully done, as seen in the photos.   We chose to do this one in Copper, with a special set of pickups, and love the way it came out!

The early 60's style C shaped neck is extremely comfortable, and the compound radius (9.5 - 12") is perfect for both chording and lead playing.  The back of the neck is worn in, with most of the finish removed, making it a breeze to play.  This guitar has the feel and vibe of an old vintage instrument but with some modern tweaks, upgrades and reliability.  The Alder body is light (the guitar weighs in at just 6.9 lbs) and resonant.  The relic work, in our opinion, is perfect - there are not many that can do it as well as Fano.

At Fano's suggestion, we went with unique pickup combination.  This is part of the fun of dialing in the specs and getting input from the experts.  Here's what this guitar has in it:

In the bridge position, it's the Lollar 50's Wind P90 Soapbar.  It's based off of pickups from a '53 Goldtop, to produce lower output, a delicate attack, and less midrange and bass. This results in a brighter overall tone with less grinding distortion. It's also slower to overdrive an amp as compared with stock P-90s. An excellent choice for players seeking an early Freddie King style tone....and still versatile enough to be used in a variety of styles & settings.  Includes de-gaussed Alnico 2 magnets.

In the neck position, it's the Lollar P-90 Staple.  Based on the original 1950s Staple pickup, it's an updated version that is more articulate than the standard P-90 and produces higher output while maintaining a clear top end. The non-adjustable beveled pole pieces allow for direct drop-in replacement for nearly any soapbar P-90, without any instrument modification needed.  We haven't had a Fano with this pickup before, and immediately fell in love with it.

Full specs are below.  This guitar comes with a very nice, padded Fano gig bag that's sturdy enough to take out on the road.  Whether you're doing that or playing at home, this is an excellent choice!  Come to Truetone Music to give it a try, or order right here right now before it's gone.
