This was an extremely limited run of one of their most classic designs with less than 100 made. These are highly in demand and hard to find, but we've got one! And this one is super clean - the previous owner got it back in 2007, never played it and kept as a collector's item. So here we are, 20 years, and it's available like new again.

In the mid 1960's, the mid 60s Vox created a white teardrop guitar specifically for Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. The guitar included two single coil pickups, a three position selector switch, a volume control and a tone control. This arrangement was reminiscent of a Telecaster, one of Brian Jones favorite guitars.

The 2007 50th anniversary reissue guitar was faithful to this original design. It had a teardrop shaped solid body with a snap on back cushion, a bolt on Fender style neck and two single coil pickups. A three position pickup selector was mounted to a Telecaster style chrome trim ring. As in the original guitar, the fretboard featured a zero fret for increased sustain. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vox, the numbers "57-07" were inlaid in the neck near the joint with the body. If the neck is removed from the body, one will find a small stamped image of Tom Jennings, the founder of Vox, in the neck pocket of the body. The headstock was painted white to match the body. Sealed tuner keys were mounted to a paddle shaped headstock. The serial was stamped on the back of the headstock. The serial numbers all started with the prefix "5707" (for 1957 to 2007) and ended with two digits that indicate the position of the guitar in the run of 100 pieces originally planned.

This guitar was produced and manufactured in the United States. Originally, Vox planned to limit the production of this guitar to one hundred pieces for the world but due to financial problems of the world economy of 2007, Vox halted production and only a limited run of less than 100 guitars were ever produced.

The serial numbers of the guitars that were produced and sold via the authorized U.S. Vox dealer network during the official 2007 production range from 570702- 570792. Although the highest serial in this list was 570792, or the ninety second guitar of the series, this does not mean that 92 guitars were assembled. The serials of the guitars were assigned randomly, not in numeric order. The factory authorized and licensed production of the 50th Anniversary MkIII Guitar ended in 2008 and was limited to about seventy instruments. No further production was authorized by Vox after 2008.

This is the opportunity to get something you just can't get again, and there won't be more made. This one is in primo condition and comes with its original hardshell case. The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly so it's ready to roll. Grab it before it's gone for good!

S/N 570708

https://www.truetonemusic.com/products/pre-owned-2007-vox-custom-shop-white-teardrop-57-07-model-with-hsc
