{"product_id":"pre-owned-2009-fender-custom-shop-stratocaster-relic-surf-green-green-with-ohsc","title":"Pre-Owned 2009 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster Relic Surf Green Green With OHSC","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cimg src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0789\/2433\/files\/vintage_and_used.png?v=1742598156\" alt=\"Used And Vintage\"\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"show-more-box\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv name=\"NaN\"\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor anyone looking for a killer Custom Shop Strat in a super cool color on a great deal, the search has led to this endpoint: a 1962 Stratocaster Heavy Relic.  This was a new guitar here at Truetone in 2009 and now has made it's way back here to be offered again.  It immediately became one of our favorites, due to it's easy playability, low weight (7.3 lbs) and super cool vibe.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe early 1960s saw some important changes to the Stratocaster, including a new pickguard configuration, neck profile and rosewood fingerboard, all culminating in a compelling new contemporary look and sound.  As music evolved during this era, so did Leo Fender's finest creation.  The Strat has continued to change over the years, but for many, stepping back to how it was done in the '60's is the way to go.   For this recreation, the Custom Shop added several compelling player-centric features for greater tonal options and a heightened playing experience.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cheader\u003e\u003cheader\u003e\u003cheader\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"gmail-product-desc gmail-ng-binding\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Heavy Relic treatment of the thin skin lacquer finish imparts the look and feel of guitar that’s been played for years.  We know it's not for everyone, but for those who are into these finishes, this is a great one!  The relic work really came out nicely.  It was spec'ed to have heavy checking and a lot of dings\/wear - and the Custom Shop nailed it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou get a two-piece select alder body that was sorted for lightweight, paired with a rock solid quartersawn maple neck.  The profile is a 60 Style Oval “C”, the Custom Shop's most popular neck shape.  This is topped with a dark rosewood fretboard that has a 9.5”-radius and narrow tall (6105) frets for steady play up and down the neck, giving you the ability to bend high in the register without fretting out.  \u003cspan\u003eIt's a really nice combination - there's a good reason why this neck shape, radius and fret size is one \u003c\/span\u003eof the\u003cspan\u003e most commonly requested neck specs on custom builds.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn terms of sound and functionality, this Strat has it all.  To start, it has Custom Shop 60's Strat pickups.  They provide mellow vintage tones but with enough bite to cut through the mix with crisp articulation. Alnico 2 magnets, Formvar magnet wire, period-correct cloth wire, and a fiber bobbin keep it accurate to what you would expect in a vintage Strat, with a warm, sweet output.  The reverse-wound, reverse-polarity middle pickup eliminates hum for whisper-quiet performance.  And, of course it has the modern spec of a 5-way switch.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOther features include an American Vintage synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, wing string tree, and a bone nut.
