Vintage 1964 Fender Jazz Bass Candy Apple Red Refinished by John Suhr
Up for sale is this 9.6lb. beautiful 1964 Fender Jazz Bass in a gorgeous Candy Apple Red refinish. The bass was refinished by John Suhr before he left Fender in 1997. A C of A can be included if needed, written by the former owner as to the refinish being done by John himself. This is a great playing and sounding ’64. The original pickups have that signature Fender “ POP” to them, and the bass rings like a bell. The 1 1/2” nut width on the comfortable “C” neck shape is one you will love getting your hand around. Nice natural feel to it. The pickguard has been replaced, as have the screws, and the thumbrest. The original screws, pickguard, and thumbnuts are included in the original hard case. Please note, due to the nature of the original tortoise pickguard material Fender used in the ’60’s, removing the pickguard for prolonged periods of time causes the guard to shrink. This one is no exception to that rule, and the included original guard has shrunk, and will no longer fit on the bass. If you’re looking for a fine vintage J Bass that looks as incredible as it sounds, and won’t break the bank, this is it kids!
