Martin has crafted some of the finest guitars in the world for well over 100 years. As a Custom Shop dealer, we are fortunate enough to be invited to Nazareth, PA and pick wood for our own exclusive guitars.  While there, we were shown an exclusive run only available to dealers that make the pilgrimage.  This is that - and it's amazing.

The model was designed by the Martin Custom Shop, so every detail was meticulously thought over.  Since it was a small run of guitars, there aren't many out there, but the result is a guitar priced well below a Custom Shop one-off.  It represents an incredible value.  It was shown to us while we were there at Martin, and we knew we had to have it.

This Custom Shop Special Edition showcases an elegant take on the classic D-18 model. It features domestically sourced Black Walnut for the back and sides, complemented by exquisite European Flamed Maple bindings and natural fiber inlays.  It's paired with a Spruce top, with scalloped bracing.  The tone is rich and powerful without being overly boomy, a top end that sings, and just the right amount of mids.  We found it to be very well balanced across the tonal spectrum.

This Custom Shop D-18 serves as a powerful reminder that domestic hardwoods not only create visually stunning instruments but also deliver remarkable sonic qualities.

The neck is easy to play - this is a guitar that you won't want to put down.  Other features include Grover tuners, Old Style 18 inlays and a Modern Belly bridge.  The guitar comes complete with a high quality hardshell case.
