Pre-Owned 1990's Taylor K22 Koa Acoustic Guitar With OHSC

Pull out the flannel we've got an early 1990s Taylor K-22 Version 1 in Koa. This is something you won't see often, especially not one like this. This is an early K22 that was custom built for an artist. It lived on the road for years, getting plenty of action - we can see why, as this is an amazing guitar.
This guitar is a a Grand Concert-style acoustic guitar that features an all-Koa construction. This epic acoustic guitar brings you lush, vibrant tones that are exceptionally resonant. The nicely figured Koa used is stunning, both visually and sonically. It delivers a rich, vibrant tone characterized by a clear, "woody" quality. Koa provides a strong midrange presence with superb tonal balance. Some players find it to be a perfect balance between Mahogany and Rosewood. Also, it's known as a wood choice that ages gracefully, gradually enhancing its sound as it is played over time. Given that this guitar is over 30 years old, it's opened up over the years and we're thinking that it must sound better today than when it was a brand new guitar.
This K22 comes with a 14-fret to the body neck topped by a Rosewood fingerboard with pearl diamond inlays and a bone nut. You get a finely crafted neck with the legendary comfortable profile that Taylor guitars are known for. A nice touch is the abalone logo inlay on the peghead.
Other features include a Rosewood bridge with black abalone dot pins. There is a classic tortoise-style pickguard with an abalone inlay soundhole. Stay in tune with style with gold tuners with large buttons.
This guitar is in good condition with a lot of player wear - by no means is this one mint - it got plenty of use on the road. Our techs carefully inspected it, finding that it had repaired cracks on the body and heel (very well done), and also at some point had a pickup installed and then removed (the endpin jack is still there). We also noticed that the label came off so we cannot list the serial number. The guitar is priced accordingly. This isn't a collector's piece, it's a player's piece - it's perfect for anyone that loves Koa acoustics that have been broken in.
The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly. The guitar comes its original hardshell case. We don't see many K22's like this and think it will go fast.
