Used And Vintage Acoustic Guitars

You don't want to be a square but ain't nothing wrong with a square shoulder. Here is a prime example of an excellent square-shouldered 14-fret dreadnought - and it's from the premier builder Collings.  It's hard to beat a Collings like this.

This is a guitar constructed with premium woods and specifications. What you get is a canon that is full bodied with plenty of tonal clarity. This Collings D2H features a select piece of Sitka Spruce for the top and choice East Indian Rosewood for its back and sides. This, in combination with its pre-war scalloped X-bracing, gives you a robust full bottom, balanced mids, and plenty of articulation in the top end. You'll love the comfort of its Honduran mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard.

This 14-fret, square-shouldered dreadnought features a 25 1/2" scale length and 1 11/16" nut width, plus a selection of stylish appointments. These include grained Ivoroid binding, Herringbone trim on the top and backstrip, a tortoise-style pickguard, grained Ivoroid and wood nitrate rosette, Abalone diamond and square inlays, and a high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

Built in 2005 in Texas, it's a great demonstration of Collings quality.  The sound is magnificent.  And for those that want to get amplified when playing live, this one has a pickup installed, so you're all set.

This guitar is in good condition.  It does show evidence of being played and used as intended, as there's a fair amount of wear on the body, but nothing that impacts the playability, sound or future longevity of the guitar.  The top appears to have a seam separation (going from the middle of the bridge to the bottom) that was professionally repaired long ago (see 4th picture).  The original case is included, and also has a good amount of wear.  Check out all of the photos to see everything.

The price reflects the cosmetic condition, and for anyone that is more concerned with the tone and feel, this is an absolutely great score.
