Get wild with this Fender Original '60s Jaguar in Surf Green! First introduced in 1962 as a short-scale, feature-packed electric guitar, the Jaguar quickly became a favorite among surf, punk, and alternative musicians. It's now utilized by a variety players for a diverse array of styles. This American Original '60s Jaguar revives that classic tone and smooth playability with subtle modern updates.
The American Original series was discontinued a few years ago, replaced by the current American Vintage II series, which does not include a Jaguar model. So, for those that want a vintage-style, American made Jaguar, it's quite the leap to a Custom Shop build. That makes this the only choice out there in this price range.
This Jaguar has an exceptional cool offset compact alder body that has contours that feel great to hold. The bound neck comes with a comfy and familiar '60s C"-shaped neck profile; 9.5"-radius fingerboard and a bound rosewood fingerboard with 22 vintage-tall frets. The pickguard perfectly captures the classic '60s design.
Its Pure Vintage '62 Jaguar single-coil pickups replicates the original design down to the enamel-coated coil wire, cloth-covered output wires, fiber bobbins, and Alnico 5 magnets. You also get the iconic lead/rhythm circuits and bass-cut "strangle" switch, that lets you dial in your favorite vintage Jaguar tones. The Jaguar is perfect for any kind of playing with tones being bright and articulate.
It wouldn't be a Fender American Original if it didn't have authentic vintage-style hardware including a floating tremolo with lock button and push-in arm, and a lacquer finish that enhances resonance and ages beautifully.
This guitar is in excellent condition - it's super clean - and comes with its original hardshell case. The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly. You don't see many of these out there, especially not as nice as this one, so don't sleep on it!
