Pre Owned 2024 Novo LTD Miris J Custom Vintage Cream with OSSC

Here we have something special that you surely don't see very often: a Novo Miris JHH Custom. We just took this one in, which was built last year, and immediately fell in love. It's an American-made masterpiece that is sure to captivate. It was built as part of a 5 piece run that Novo did, in 5 different two-tone color combinations. So, this is the one like it in existence.
Novo has achieved a challenging balance: crafting guitars that appear fresh and distinctive while remaining accessible and familiar. Dennis Fano is now well into his third decade of mastering this precise blend with remarkable skill.
The Miris J stands out with its distinctive Jazzmaster-influenced shape combined with Rickenbacker-style contours in a semihollow body. It features expertly finished frets, precise construction and setup, along with reliable and well-designed electronics and hardware. Everything about is top notch.
This one has a super resonant Swamp Ash body finish in Nitrocellulose Lacquer, which was given the Light Distress treatment. So, you get the vibe of a guitar that has aged gracefully and has been played plenty, but well taken care of. We love the two-tone Vintage Cream and Copper look, with white binding and a custom Copper Plexi pickguard to cap it off.
The bolt-on tempered maple neck features a 25 ½-inch scale length and is shaped with a medium-C profile, measuring .83 inches in depth at the first fret. Its rosewood fingerboard is equipped with 22 medium Jescar nickel-silver frets, set on a compound radius that transitions from 9.5 to 14 inches. The finishing touches are the binding on the neck and the block inlays, which are a cool custom feature.
The guitar has a proprietary Mastery vibrato, designed for Novo. According to Dennis Fano, “I’m always looking for new ways to elevate Novo and set us apart. I designed a distinctive, oversized baseplate with our tri-plate logo engraved in it and a striking lightning-bolt–shaped vibrato arm with a nickel-plated, machined aluminum tip. The tip has a great feel in the hand, and the new arm keeps the fulcrum point centered over the vibrato, giving it a super-smooth feel.”
The vibrato system pairs with Mastery’s renowned M1 bridge, while vintage-style tuners secure the strings at the headstock, following their passage over a 1.65-inch nut crafted from unbleached bone.
As for how it sounds, well, there's no skimping there. Novo went with a pair of Lollar Lollartrons. According to Lollar, these were designed by modeling the pickups in a particularly magical ‘63 Gretsch Country Gentleman as the tonal reference. They have have the clarity and punch players expect from a classic Filter’Tron. Treble strings deliver high frequencies that are focused on the fundamental of the note, resulting in a fat, full tone that won’t get muddy. Once plugged in, we found that to be spot on. Even more so, we discovered them to be quite balanced across the tonal spectrum and quite versatile.
This Novo Miris J is a one of a kind find, and we expect to go quickly. It's in excellent condition (was bought by a collector and only played a few times). The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly, and it really does. The original soft shell case is included.
