Pre Owned Fender Custom Shop 1957 Stratocaster Rosewood Neck Black With OHSC

We just took in this killer Fender Custom Shop 1957 Stratocaster, in a rarely seen design. It's a classic 50's era Strat in some ways, but in some, totally not.  The main aspect is that it has an all rosewood neck.  This is rarely seen on Strats.  We've had a few like it, but perhaps none as cool as this - it's a great look to match the all black body, pickguard, knobs and pickup covers.  It's a stunning aesthetic.

This guitar has a cool backstory - it was built for the musician Marlon Williams (Fishbone, Snoop Dog and more), ended up at a store on the west coast., was briefly owned by a customer of ours, and is now here at Truetone.  We were excited to see it walk in our door.

This '57 Strat Relic, so it has all of the appearances of a guitar that has been played hard for years, with player wear.  It's not just about the aesthetic (though it does look awesome!).  For those that know, it's about the broken-in nature.  This guitar has the super comfortable feel of a guitar that has been worn in for years and still plays great.

The guitar features a lightweight alder body with a lacquer finish. The all rosewood neck has a WLS Satin finish that is super smooth, and features a period accurate 57 Style Soft “V” back-shape, 9.5” fingerboard radius and 21 narrow tall frets.  So, it's vintage correct, but with the modernized tweak of a slightly flatter radius and taller frets for easy playing.  It's a super comfortable neck, crafted to be played all night.

The pickups in this guitar is the Custom Shop Handwound 1957 Stratocaster set.  This gives you the original, classic Strat sound that you know and love, but with just the right amount of treble to cut through without sounding shrill, a solid bass response, and a nicely balanced output.  These pickups sound amazing, and there's a reason why this set is one of most requested out there.
