Pre Owned Gibson Custom Shop NAMM Exclusive SG Custom Elegant Quilt Natural with OHSC

Experience the extraordinary: we are excited to present a piece of Gibson history here with one of the most incredible SG's we've ever seen.  

Built for Gibson's 2019 NAMM show that marked the legendary brand's comeback, this one-off masterpiece was put on display behind glass, eliciting quite the response.  While we don't know who had it first, eventually the guitar made it's way to Trogly's Guitar Show, and then to one of our favorite local collectors.  We now have it here at Truetone Music - but you won't see on the wall in our showroom.  This guitar is just too nice, so we're keeping it locked away, safely well-preserved for the next owner.

This Custom Shop SG is like no other ever seen.  It features a stunning figured quilt maple top with unique mineral streaking, capping a resonant mahogany body. The real standout is the exceptional five-piece flame maple/walnut neck, which is unlike anything we've seen on a Gibson guitar.  It's 3 pieces of maple, 2 pieces of walnut, and the grain is truly stunning.  It's topped with an ebony fretboard that features super attractive abalone block inlays.  On top of all that is a rare figured maple headstock cap.  It's definitely something you don't see very often.  All togheter, the result is a truly unique guitar.

In terms of playability, the guitar has the normal specs you'd expect:  24.75" scale length, 1.69" nut width, C shape neck profile (.870 - .960") and a 12" radius.

Premium Custombuckers (8.00 bridge, 7.99 neck) deliver unparalleled tone.  The guitar sounds exactly like you'd expect, if you know what a Custom Shop SG should sound like.  Full, rich and capable of cutting through the mix with a mid-range punch and sweet sounding top end, this is the classic SG tone.

Other features include gold hardware, a Les Paul Custom truss rod cover (in the style of the early 60's models) and a special commemorateve NAMM show sticker on the back of the headstock.  Also included is the Certificate of Authenticity and the orginal case.

This SG is a collector's dream.  There was only one made, and this is it.  We are proud to present it here, and look forward to placing it into the next collection.
