Used And Vintage Electric Guitars

Always black - that's the rule of law for a special customer and friend of ours, who seemingly has an endless supply of unique and rare guitars, all in the best color of all, black.  We are always excited to see what he brings in, and recently he sauntered in with one of the coolest pieces from his collection: this Kustom K-200B from 1968.

1968 was a pivotal year in American history.  Turbulent would be a better word.  Assassinations, war and social unrest.  However, it wasn't all bad - it's the year that Intel was founded, Apollo 8 became the first manned spacecraft to orbit the moon, and the patent for the jacuzzi whirlpool hot tub was granted.  It's when the world received Electric Ladyland from the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Saucerful of Secrets from Pink Floyd, and At Folsom Prison from Johnny Cash.

It's also when the guitar world got the Kustom K-200B.   Here we are 55 years later, getting blown away by how cool it is.  It's not everyday we get one of these.  It's a fantastic, rare, and unique vintage piece.

This one is all original with no modifications. It's the perfect guitar to give you chimey tones with a bit of warmth. You get a stylish black semi-hollowbody with a comfortable slim profile neck that fits the hands well. Enjoy a pair of single-coil pickups that give you an edgy twang that is darker rather than bright. You can easily dial in your desired sounds with individual tone and volume controls for each pickup and a pickup selector. Stay in tune with its vintage tuners, bridge, and classic trapeze tailpiece. This is a great instrument to play everything from clean to fully distorted.

This Kustom K-200B is in good condition, especially considering its age - there is wear on the body, so be sure to check out the photos.  In our opinion, that's part of what makes vintage guitars like this so appealing.  The authentic aging gives it character.  Thankfully, the neck on this one is straight, and the frets have plenty of life left in them.  The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.

This K-200B comes with a hardshell case.  It's s a Kustom branded case from the 60's, and may have been purchased with the guitar back in the day, but we can't say it's the original case, as we don't know for sure, since it's not a perfect fit (but it works fine and will protect the guitar).

For fans of unique vintage guitars that also play & sound great (which isn't always the scenario), this Kustom K-200B is a nice score!
