Up for sale is this great Fender American Standard Jazz Bass Fretless in a beautiful 3-Tone Sunburst.  These are rarely seen on the used market, and especially not in such great condition as this one.  It's obvious that the previous owner didn't even play it - not only is it super clean, but the pickguard plastic/sticker is still intact as well as the plastic on the tuners.  In that sense, it's like new.  
 
The Jazz Bass is one of the most iconic basses of all time, and a fretless like this opens up another world of sonic possibilities.  Obviously Jaco Pastorius comes to mind, but it goes beyond that - fretless basses have been put to great use by diverse players such as Jeff Ament, Pino Palladino, Tony Franklin and Les Claypool.
 
This one is a perfect example of why.  The neck is extremely comfortable, the Custom Shop 60's Jazz Bass pickups provide the perfect vintage tone for a fretless, and the high-mass bridge increase sustain, allowing notes to truly sing.  The lightweight modern tuners help to avoid neck dive.  Overall, the quality is top notch, and it's hard to beat a Fender fretless, especially at this price.
 
This bass is in excellent condition and comes with the original hardshell case.  It has been setup with black nylon strings and plays perfectly.  If you're in the market for a fretless bass, you've found a winner right here.
