
Vintage 1978 Fender Precision Bass Sunburst Maple With HSC
1978. That's the year of Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees, National Lampoon's Animal House and when Ben & jerry's opened their first ice cream shop. It's also when Fender gave birth to this killer Precision Bass. Over the years, it's been modded and played plenty, but is still in good shape - after nearly half a century, it's ready to keep going.
There's a lot going with this bass. The first thing to state is that it's the original neck and body with the original finish. It's a beautiful, vibrant 3-Tone Sunburst that has aged quite nicely. There's a good amount of honest player wear - this bass was put to use, just as it should have been! The tuners and the the pickguard areoriginal as well. After that, here's what has been changed:
- The pickup has been swapped to a Bartolini
- The bridge has been upgraded to a Leo Quan Badass II
- The neckplate was changed (appears to be a late 60's)
- The strap buttons were replaced
- The pots have been changed to DiMarzio 250k pots
- The case is aftermarket
