This instrument is from the personal collection of the late Brad Pie who played guitar in the 1990’s with the great Johnny Otis. Along with Johnny’s sons - Shuggie Otis (Guitar) and Nicky Otis (Drums) - Brad contributed guitar to the 1992 Grammy-Nominated “Spirits of the Black Territory Bands” by the Johnny Otis & His Orchestra group. Many of the instruments from Brad’s collection are uniquely modified and come with various customized accessories. This particular instrument comes with the following:
The guitar has been upgraded with custom knobs, switch tip and pickguard - all else is original, including the case. Inside, you'll find the original knobs and pickguard, as well as a nice brown leather strap, blue cable, a clip-on tuner, and Gibson case candy.
This Blueberry beast comes packed with a pair of Tradbucker Alnico V pickups. The neck position humbucker is underwound for a warmer rhythm friendly sound. The bridge pickup is overwound with more output, perfect for leads and cutting through the mix. You can easily find your desired sounds with innovative modern electronics. You get a push/pull pot to coil split or coil tap which can be changed via a dip switch in the control cavity. With the coil-split mode, the treble tone push/pull toggles between the inner and outer coils. The rhythm tone push/pull activates a phase switch, which is great for more classic British blues stylings.
