Pre Owned R. Taylor Style 1 Acoustic-Electric Guitar With Gig Bag

I'm sure you know Taylor guitars but have you ever experienced an R. Taylor guitar?  Up for sale is one of the best guitars R Taylor aka Bob Taylor has ever made, this R. Taylor Style 1.   R. Taylor was a a separate company founded by Bob Taylor in the early 2000s for the boutique guitar market.  Ever since then, these fine acoustics have been in high demand.  We were thrilled to get this one in.

These guitars were produced with his best luthiers and were distinct from the Taylor guitars. They were built with the absolute highest quality materials such as premium and rare tonewoods. The R Taylor guitars were considered to be on par with such other boutique builders such as Bourgeoisie, Froggy bottom, and Goodall.

This instrument is from the personal collection of the late Brad Pie who played guitar in the 1990’s with the great Johnny Otis.  Along with Johnny’s sons - Shuggie Otis (Guitar) and Nicky Otis (Drums) - Brad contributed guitar to the 1992 Grammy-Nominated “Spirits of the Black Territory Bands” by the Johnny Otis & His Orchestra group.  Many of the instruments from Brad’s collection come with various customized accessories, in this case a very nice strap and cable.

The R Taylor Style 1 is still a sought after model even after the R Taylor brand was discontinued in 2010.  It has a grand auditorium body shape with a Sitka spruce top with Indian rosewood back & sides.  There is a soft cutaway for full access to the its bound ebony fingerboard, which is on a very comfortable mahogany neck.  You also get an eye-catching abalone rosette - be sure to zoom in on the photos to see it.  The headstock has a striking shape distinct from Taylor guitars with a rosewood cap. 

This R Taylor Style is packed with an expression electronics system to expand this guitar's tonal capabilities. You can simply plug and play anywhere with incredible tones. The ebony bridge provides the perfect blend of tone, sustain, and stability. With its set of gold Gotoh 510 tuners with a 18:1 gear ratio you get smooth and precise tuning with ease.

This R Taylor Style 1 is a unique piece of Taylor history that represents the best of both of the Taylor companies. This instrument is in excellent condition and comes with a  strap, cable, and hardshell case.  It's been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, and is quite the catch!
