1963 was quite the year here in American, chalk full of historic events.  While some are historic and tragic (the JFK assassination), others are more fun (the beginning of Beatlemania) and also just plain interesting (the first push-button telephone).  It's also when Gibson, then based in Kalamazoo, MI, made this incredible guitar.

Why get a reissue when you can experience the real thing, here is this vintage Gibson ES-330TDS in Cherry from 1963.  The model is one of the most important hollow-body guitars ever, which became a classic.  We have an incredible example at Truetone right now.

The Gibson ES-330 is a fully hollow body guitar with a double-cutaway design. It features a bounded laminate arched maple body that is exceptional resonant. There is no center block so you're getting the full resonance of the open chamber through its f-holes. You get a bounded mahogany neck with a comfy early '60s neck profile that is slimmer than its '50s counterpart, so it's super easy to play, and has a rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. Of course you get the original pickguard which really makes the cherry finish, which has aged perfectly, really pop!

This vintage Gibson ES-330 is packed with a pair of P90s that deliver thick, articulate single-coil tones that are perfect for any style of playing. While the guitar is more prone to feedback than its semi-hollow counterparts many players have used this as an advantage with gainer settings to get awesome raucous tones. These pickups are original and bring you vintage warmth and dynamics. These guitars are prized for great tones and its incredibly easy  to find them with individual volume and tone controls for each pickup and its 3-way pickup selector.

Most of the original hardware and components are present in this excellent vintage piece. With its trapeze tailpiece you're getting a nod to its hollowbody roots while the tune-o-matic bridge was an evolutionary piece of hardware for these guitars to maintain tuning stability and intonation.  What's not original are the tuners, which were replaced with period correct ones.  Also, the guitar has had a refret, which makes it play even better.  The original hardshell case is included.

The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop and is ready to go.  If you want a vintage Gibson that'll knock your socks off this is it! It's in good condition considering it's age - and has a just the right amount of wear to acheive that cool vintage vibe that other guitars can only strive for.  If you're looking for a mint piece, this isn't it, but if you want a true players guitar, this is quite the find.

We think it won't last long - the last vintage ES-330 we had sold in a matter days.  Don't sleep on this one.
