Truetone Music is proud to be partnered with the legendary musician Colin Hay in offering instruments out of his collection. Each comes with a signed certificate verifying the authenticity, assuring that it has been used on tour, in studio or personally by him. During his years with Men At Work, Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, and his own solo career, various instruments were used. Very few have become available, until now.

A Les Paul R9 "Lemon Burst" is considered a top-tier, highly sought-after guitar from the Gibson Custom Shop, renowned for its authentic recreation of a classic 1959 Les Paul, considered by many to be a "holy grail" guitar.  Here we have one from the Historic Collection, with a distinctive Lemon Burst finish.  Built in 2013, a great era for Gibson, this one exceeded our expectations as soon as we opened the case.

The guitar features a beautifully flamed maple top, a rich mahogany body, and the iconic "fat" 50s neck profile, delivering a warm, full-bodied tone with exceptional playability and vintage aesthetic appeal.  Everything about is makes it a dream guitar for collectors and players seeking the classic Les Paul sound with a distinct vintage vibe. 

Burstbucker pickups bring in the classic Les Paul sound clear, never harsh, with no mud whatsoever.  You get just the right amount of bottom to sound powers, with a singing treble side that can handle leads perfectly.  The balance is appreciated, and while the guitar sounds great clean, it's when pushed through an overdriven amp that it really shines.  There's a reason that '59 Les Paul is legendary, and it's this sound.

Comes with the original hardshell case, hang tags, and a signed Certificate of Authenticity.  The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop and is in excellent condition, with just a bit of the normal player wear.
