Hoverla is our take on the classic Germanium Treble booster circuit with modifications improving flexibility. We used selected NOS (new old stock) Germanium transistors with high Hfe (gain characteristic) and low leakage, mostly Soviet-made ones.

Controls

  • Range - frequency response control: bass/full frequency/treble booster.
  • Master - effect output level.
  • Impedance - controls the signal impedance when the pickup simulator is enabled, allowing you to adjust the interaction between your guitar and the pedal and fine-tune your tone.
  • Bias - adds gain and some grid, varies transistor bias point.
  • PU Sim toggle - switches pickup simulator. When the PU Sim toggle is off, the buffer and the Impedance pot are also bypassed, giving you a classic effect that is sensitive to the input signal and any other pedals in your chain.
  • LED brightness trimmer - placed on the PCB trimmer allows you to adjust the status LED brightness.
