Exclusive Flame Top 50's Telecaster Custom

We at Truetone Music are always looking to come up with something you haven't seen before, especially when in partnership with Fender.  For this take on a classic 50's era Tele, we went a step further - going to the Custom Shop in Corona, CA to hand select the wood for an exclusive run of guitars.  We were taken into the vault, to go through their finest collection of wood.  From that, we chose different spreads, for an exclusive run of Tele Customs.  Here is one that really stands out - it's definitely one of the most unique Custom Shop builds we've had here.  

This guitar is a custom creation, not meant to be "period correct" - it's more of a "vintage inspired".  The 1950's never saw one like this, that's for sure.

One of the first things you'll notice is the color.  It's called Greenburst.  This was inspired by one of our favorite customers that did a Custom Shop Tele build with this color as the request.  When that guitar arrived, we knew we had to take his great idea and turn it into our own.  When this one arrived, we were blown away.  

Next, you'll see that it has a gorgeous AAA Flame Maple top.  You don't see a lot of Tele's out there with flame tops.  The ash body is also gorgeous - check out the shots of the back to see the grain.  For those that appreciate good wood, this Tele is for you.  It's not just about the looks though; it's the sound you get out of a guitar like this that really matters.  The combination of woods gives you a rich and full tone that is also cutting with a nice bite.  It complements the sound of the pickups found in this guitar.  More on that in a moment.  Of course, your eyes will gravitate to the AAA Flame Maple top, which was hand-selected by us on a visit to the Custom Shop in Corona.  We asked for the finish to be transparent, to allow the wood grain to really show.  The result is stunning, especially with parchment binding to frame the body perfectly.  The way it came out is amazing - the Custom Shop nailed it.

The 59 Large "C" neck shape has a real vintage feel and is quite comfortable.  It's not too fat, but it's definitely not skinny.  This guitar has the modern preference of a 9.5" radius and 6105 frets, making it easy to play.  

For the pickups, we went for a classic combination.  This Telecaster is equipped with a Custom Shop '51 Nocaster bridge pickup, known for its throaty midrange and bite, and a Custom Shop Twisted Tele neck pickup, known for its crystalline clarity. Together, these pickups offer astonishing versatility and deliver the classic Tele tone with a touch of Strat-like sparkle.  The tone that comes out of this guitar is simply incredible.

Other features include an early 50's style bridge with brass saddles, vintage tuners, and for the finishing touch, a custom Black Anodized pickguard.  It comes with a special white case with a blue interior - it's sophisticated look, fitting for this guitar. Included is a strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
