Exclusive Figured Rose Myrtle 1959 Telecaster

We at Truetone Music are always looking to come up with something you haven't seen before, especially when in partnership with Fender.  For this take on a classic late 50's era Tele, we went a step further - going to the Custom Shop in Corona, CA to hand select the wood for an exclusive run of guitars.  We were escorted into the wood vault, to go through their finest collection of wood spreads.  From that, we designed a batch of 15 guitars that are all one of a kind.  Within that, there is only one Figured Rose Myrtle Telecaster, and this is it.

We are excited to present this guitar - and before we say anything else, we'll pause here so that you can check out the photos.

The Figured Rose Myrtle top (over an alder body) is something to behold.  This finely textured hardwood and is rarely seen on guitars, so when we were presented the option, we knew we had to jump on it.  We chose the most interesting piece on hand, and went with a natural finish to really let the wood grain to show.  Given its beauty, we chose to keep this one as an NOS piece - no aging or relic work - and it came out great.

Another great feature of this guitar is the neck.  It has an easy playing '59 Esquire "C" profile, with a modern radius (9.5") and narrow tall frets.  We chose this neck shape due to its comfortable grip - while it has a vintage feel, it's not too thick. Some call it the perfect "in between" neck. The 59 Esquire C shape is becoming more popular, as it's a similar carve to the 60's Oval C seen on so many Custom Shop guitars, but with a little more "beef" to it.  If you're a fan of vintage neck shapes but still like it slim, this is a great way to go.

For the pickups, we went with the Custom Shop 56/57 Tele set.  This gives you full clarity, with enough bite to cut through the mix.  We chose them for this guitar because they are amongst our favorites, and feel that these are some of the Custom Shop's best and "truest" vintage sounding pickups.  The 56/57 Tele pickups have Alnico 5 magnets, with the bridge position providing the twang and neck position supplying a warm and creamy tone.  This is a great combination and perfect for a Tele replicating the sound of that era.

Other features include an RSD Tele bridge, which is our favorite and helps the guitar stay intonated.  It's topped off with vintage tuning machines, bone nut and a Silver Anodized pickguard. Also includes a Custom Shop black hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

We haven't seen a Telecaster like this before - it's truly stunning.  We picked the coolest looking piece Fender had at the time, which was earmarked specifically for this guitar.  Come to Truetone Music to experience it today, or make it yours right here.  Remember, only one was made, and once it's gone, it's gone for good.
