Fender Custom Shop "Golden Rose" 1959 Precision Bass Relic Copper Metallic

EXCLUSIVE TRUETONE COLOR SET - GOLDEN ROSE

As part of a close partnership with the Fender Custom Shop, Truetone Music cooked up an exclusive run of guitars, known as "Truetone Color Sets".  It's where we do a quartet of instruments - Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster and Jazz or Precision bass - all in the same color, as a matching set.  For the colors, we picked unique ones that are rarely ever seen.  In this case, it's Copper Metallic.

A truly unique custom creation, the "Golden Rose" '59 Precision Bass came to be from relationship between Truetone Music and the Fender Custom Shop, and is now back again.  It's actually the originator of the entire Truetone Color Set series - this P bass is what started the whole idea, going back to when the owner of Truetone was still the Fender rep, over a decade ago.

The Copper Metallic lacquer finish on the body and matching headstock blends beautifully with Gold hardware and Anodized Gold pickguard, resulting in a golden ambience rarely even seen on a P Bass .  It's not just a stunning look - this vintage styled bass is a soul machine ready to pump out the sound heard around the world: the Fender P Bass.

We requested a "light relic" treatment, with heavy checking but no arm wear or buckle rash.  This is close to a Journeyman Relic finish, with just a little bit more put into it.  The neck is a very comfortable 60's Oval C shape, with quartersawn maple topped by a flat lam dark rosewood fretboard, completed with a vintage radius and frets. 

The base model specific '59 P Bass pickups provides all of the warmth and thump you've come to expect from a vintage P bass.  For those that crave the original tone that made the P bass so famous, this is it.  The vintage-recreation split-coil pickups feature Alnico 5 magnets, enamel-coated wire, and flush-mount pole pieces. They deliver the warm low-end, punchy midrange, and dynamic touch-sensitivity characteristic of late-50s Fender Golden Era tone.
