Used And Vintage

For fans of the smaller things in life, or perhaps just those that crave the unique, here's something you definitely don't see very often: a Stratocaster Junior.  Made in Japan, this guitar is a precursor to the more recent Junior Collection that had a variety of colors - this one is more traditional, in sunburst.  It just snuck in the back door here, and we all immediately fell in love.  There's a lot going on with this, so here we go....

The first thing you'll notice is that it's small - that's stating the obvious.  It's a 24" scale length, making it super easy to play.  With a 1.625" nut width and a 9.5" radius, the guitar will still feel familiar.  Of course, it's lightweight, coming in at just 6.7 lbs.

Where the guitar really shines is how it sounds.  In a nice twist of discovery, we found out that the guitar is loaded with Custom Shop pickups.  We're not sure exactly which, but to use they sound like 60's style pickups - the bottom end has nice warmth, with strong mids and a clean top end that stays smooth without sounding shrill.

Overall, the guitar is in good condition - it's clean with some normal fading of the finish and player wear but not much.  We did find that the trem arm had been broken off in the bridge block, which we couldn't get out.  So, there's no using the tremolo on this one - essentially it's a hardtail now.  Of course the rest of the guitar functions just as it should.   We also found that the tuners had been replaced - this has aftermarket Wilkinson tuners, which are a nice upgrade.

A Strat Junior like this is super cool and something you don't see every day.  The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly - it's ready to go. This is a rare find for sure, and we have a feeling it will go quickly!
