Pre-Owned 1988 Laney AOR Series Pro-Tube Head And 2 X 12 Cabinets

In late 1987 Bill Hodgman entered a Guitar Player magazine contest for the Laney A30MV tube stack amplifier. In a letter dated December 7, 1987, He was notified by GPI  Publications that he had won the contest. In January 1988 the amp and speakers were delivered to his office at the LA County District Attorneys Office in the Long Beach courthouse. Bill is the original owner and has had the amp and speakers ever since they were delivered to him.

The amp was made in England and is part of Laneys 1980s Advanced Overdrive Series (AOR) with a power section of four 6V6 power tubes and four Groove Tubes in the preamp section. Via push-pull pots, the amp head has a boost function for bass, mid, and treble. The amp also has an effects loop. The amp head and speakers cabs are in very good condition. Bill also kept the original Laney owner manual, a circuit diagram, and tube amp trouble shooting tips guide, which we have included.

While Bill loved the powerful roar of the Laney, he hadn’t used the amp all that much. He was an active trial lawyer for the DA's Office for many years and was one of the lead prosecutors on the OJ Simpson case. That was a year and a half of his life when he rarely touched a guitar. 

He originally contacted Truetone Music in 2023 about consigning his Laney stack. He finally came around to parting ways with this great sounding piece of history and now you can experience that powerful roar.
