Every instrument begins with meticulously handpicked woods selected for their unique qualities, followed by exceptional craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. From finely crafted fretwork to the pickguard edges carefully sanded and polished, each element is designed to evoke the feel of a well-loved, time-tested instrument.

Here is a one-off Custom Shop Solamente, which was hand-delivered to us from G&L.  We weren't sure what to expect, but were blow away immediately.  It's a single-pickup ASAT with a semi-hollow mahogany body.  You won't think it's semi-hollow, due to the F hole being omitted.  The end result is a really light guitar (6.6 lbs) full of tone and expression.  You get a tight low-end and less feedback at high gain.  The guitar features a beautiful flame maple that's accented by the white binding.

Players who prefer a tastefully worn in look will love the aging on this guitar - it projects an authentic vibe.  We've seen a lot of guitars that attempt this but have to say that G&L really nailed it.

The birdseye maple neck is stunning, and also easy to play, with a true old school vintage feel.  It hasa medium jumbo frets, a vintage radius and is topped with Kluson tuners.

Sound-wise, you get to be bold, clear and punchy with the G&L MFD jumbo single coil pickup.  Who needs two pickups when you get the dynamic range you need out of a single pickup?  That's what you get here.  Addtionally, this G&L Custom Shop Solamente comes with with "Eldred Esquire" wiring.  This adds a third unique sound to a standard Esquire's two positions by introducing a small-value capacitor in the circuit, resulting in the characteristic "cocked wah" tone. The three positions offer: Position 1 (back) for a hot, high-end, volume-only tone; Position 2 (middle) for a standard warmer, volume-and-tone controlled sound; and Position 3 (front) for the "cocked wah" tone, which provides a hollowed-out, scooped midrange sound.

We've seen some cool G&L guitars here over the years but this is definitly the most enticing.  There's only one, so get it before it's gone.
