It features a body carved out of a single large piece of solid mahogany, unique among Les Paul models. The resulting dark mid-range tone from the body pairs perfectly with its bright-sounding solid Ebony fingerboard. All together, it's the pinnacle of guitar craftsmanship, design and tone.

Gibson meticulously reconstructed every component of the original 1957 Les Paul Custom to deliver an authentic experience. Featuring a mahogany body, nitrocellulose finish, and a solid ebony fingerboard, this model also offers the sought-after Chunky C neck profile. Attention to detail extends to vintage-style Kluson Waffleback tuners and precisely sized and shaped mother-of-pearl ’50s Pattern inlays, ensuring an exacting tribute to the classic design.

The Gibson Custom Shop Historic Reissue models feature the Vintage Original Sheen (VOS) finish as a standard option. This finish includes subtly aged components that provide a genuine vintage character. The nitrocellulose coating is carefully buffed to a soft matte sheen, evoking the appearance and tactile experience of a well-preserved, lovingly played instrument over time.

Gibson devoted equal care to the electronics as to the guitar’s visual details, ensuring an authentic 1957 Les Paul sound. The internal circuitry is crafted to faithfully reproduce the original tone, featuring a pair of Custombucker humbuckers—Gibson’s most precise PAF replicas to date.
