Pre Owned Fender Custom Shop Dual P90 Strat With OHSC

We just took in a super cool, super unique guitar: this Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Dual P90 Strat.  There's a lot going on with this one so check it out!

The first thing you'll notice is the pickup configuration, which is one that you rarely ever see.  Unlike traditional Strats, this model features two Custom Shop P90 pickups.  This offers the best of both worlds to players seeking timeless Stratocaster style and the warm sound of P90 pickups, with a balanced output.  The pickups are mounted on a black phenolic pickguard and controlled by three-way switching and Fat '50s dual P90 wiring with master volume and tone controls.  The end result is a truly versatile guitar.

The Fender Custom Shop gave this one the Deluxe Closet Classic treatment, so it's aged but not relic'ed - there are no dings, dents or other markings to make it look like it was played for decades.  More so, it's like a guitar that was made decades ago but kept in its case the whole time, perhaps only taken out to be polished.  The end result is a beautiful patina.  It looks great on the Aged Butterscotch finish - a rare color on a Strat.

 

Another highlight of this guitar is that the body is crafted from vintage Michigan Mahogany.  This wood was sourced from Kalamazoo, Michigan - and as we all know, that's the birthplace of other branded mahogany guitars.  This is another rarity for a Strat - typically it's an ash or alder body - so having Mahogany makes this one even more special.  The roasted quartersawn maple neck has a comfortable Large "C" profile that provides a nice grip.  It's topped by a dark rosewood fingerboard, designed for lead work with a 12" radius with Jumbo frets. We were really digging how well it plays.

The Custom Shop really went all out on this one.  Nice touches include Mother of Pearl inlays, a fully shield pickguard, countersunk ferrules, and the removal of "Synchronized Tremolo" from the decal (after all, it is a hardtail).  Other features include a vintage-style hardtail bridge and tuning machines, bone nut, and wing string tree. It comes with the original deluxe hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.

This Custom Shop Dual P-90 has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, and is ready to find its next home.  There's only one out there, it's right here, and could go quick!
