The Fender 6G15 spring reverb unit is iconic for shaping the sounds of Surf guitar, Spaghetti Westerns, and many classic 1960s tone and this Catalinbread Topanga is the pedal to give you those fantastic tones. Unlike typical internal amp spring reverbs, this outboard unit runs before the amplifier, allowing its reverb signal to distort for a richer, more intense effect. Its additional controls include a Dwell knob that adjusts spring activation and a Tone knob for fine-tuning brightness. Functioning as a tube preamp, it also imparts distinctive coloration to the signal. Catalinbread expertly recreates this character with the original’s three-knob layout, plus a discrete preamp controlled by a Volume knob for a versatile clean boost.
