The late 1950s to early 1960s marked a pivotal era in the evolution of the Precision Bass®, characterized by significant design updates that became defining features of the P-Bass®. By 1960, the instrument had moved beyond its Telecaster®-inspired origins, adopting a Strat®-style headstock, ergonomic body contours, pickguard-mounted electronics, and a 4-saddle bridge. Finished in classic 3-Color Sunburst with a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, the 1960 Precision Bass showcased a polished and timeless design that solidified its lasting appeal.

Equipped with a high-quality alder body, a Pure Vintage ‘60 Split-Coil P-Bass pickup, and a robust “C” shaped hard rock maple neck paired with a 7.25” radius slab rosewood fingerboard, the American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass faithfully recreates the signature tone and playing experience of the original model.
