Used 2023 Powers Electric A-Type Select Cosmo Red with Soft Case

The body design draws inspiration from classic cars, hot rods, and surfboards, achieving a striking asymmetrical shape that balances timeless elegance with modern details from every angle. This fully enclosed, trussed hollow body features two internal sound posts within a braced, solid-wood top, enabling the top and back to vibrate together. This construction maximizes resonance, reduces feedback, and delivers a smooth, sustained tone. Notably lightweight, the guitar offers superb comfort, enhanced by a hollow body, contoured armrest, and radiused edges for effortless playability whether seated or standing. The neck strikes an ideal balance—neither thick nor thin—seamlessly connecting to a uniquely shaped fretboard with an asymmetrical split radius. The flatter treble side along the entire fretboard facilitates easier string bending and greater playability without choking.

The pickups are a new design that blend modern magnetic structure with an old inspiration. It allows the strings to vibrate more naturally and produce both fidelity and colorful warmth – which often tend to be at odds with one another but beautifully complement each other within this design. Powers designed two variations of this pickup – one emphasizing clarity and warmth, the other with a firm, brighter response. 

This particular guitar is loaded with the latter, called PF42 pickups.  It’s a “Partial Faraday” cage made with 42-gauge wire. This creates a striking tone that will cut through the mix but still have a vintage warmth to it.  And, the PF42 pickups visually features matching pickguard material.  These are an all new pickup design, and it's obvious that Andy Powers has hit a home run.

The CamTail tremolo system reflects Andy Powers’ love for expressive pitch-shifting, engineered to maintain tuning stability through compensated string ramps that keep all strings moving in unison. Inspired by lap and pedal steel techniques, it includes a zero-point return locking mechanism for precise pitch control and can be adjusted for full floating vibrato. Finishing touches like the vibrant knobs and tremolo arm cap are crafted in-house from layered surfboard resin—a unique material with no two pieces alike—adding an artisanal flair to this meticulously designed instrument.
