CATCH EVENT CUSTOM

At this year's NAMM show in Anaheim, Taylor put on an unforgettable dealer event on the rooftop of a hotel, showing a set of extremely limited and special guitars, known as the Catch Event.  Here, dozens of one-of-a-kind Taylor guitars were displayed.  We had the opportunity to participate and were fortunate to score a few guitars - this is one of them.  

Truetone is proud to present this super unique Taylor Custom Grand Auditorium.  For this custom model, Taylor adorned the versatile, popular cutaway Grand Auditorium body with a sparkling Silver Cranberry Supernova color shift gradient that highlights varied hues depending on the viewing angle.  Take a moment to take in this finish as you view the photos - and remember, as good as they look, it looks even better in person.

A hand-selecteds set of quilted Big Leaf Maple back and sides and a Sitka Spruce top yield a clear, balanced voice with a rewarding blend of clarity and warmth that reflects the nuances of each player's touch.  Thanks to volume-boosting, sustain-enhancing V-Class interior bracing, notes stay more in tune and you get a guitar that is well balanced across the tonal spectrum.  You'll notice it as you play along the entirety of the Hard Rock Maple neck and Ebony fretboard.  The guitar was crafted with a sharp Florentine cutaway providing access to the guitar's upper register.

Along with the unique color treatment, this acoustic-electric boasts standout visuals such as Spires fretboard inlays, a green abalone rosette, a mother-of-pearl peghead logo, ebony binding, a full-body gloss finish and a shaded edgeburst around the body and neck. Outfitted with satin black tuning machines and ES2 electronics, this custom Grand Auditorium ships in a brown deluxe hardshell case.

We've never seen an acoustic excactly this, and are completely blown away by what Taylor has created here.  This is a special guitar for sure.  We only have one, and since it was part of the Catch Event, we will only have this one - once it's gone, it's gone for good.
