Taylor GT 811e Sinker LTD Acoustic Electric Guitar With AeroCase
Indian Rosewood/Sinker Redwood GT 811e LTD
This limited-edition GT 811e takes Taylor’s compact, portable GT body shape to the next level with stunning appointments and a boldly striped sinker redwood top. Taylor made a very small number (just over 100) of this guitar, as an exclusive for dealers attending this year's NAMM show, and we were able to score one. We knew it was amazing when we saw the prototype, but were even more blown away when this one landed.
The redwood, sourced from logs submerged in California riverbeds, is paired with solid Indian rosewood back and sides. Redwood boasts a high volume ceiling with much of cedar’s warmth and touch sensitivity, while rosewood’s lush overtone character, warm low end and crisp highs contribute to a flavorful tone profile.
Special appointments for this NAMM limited-edition model include a richly striped West African ebony fretboard and peghead veneer, maple binding, top purfling in black and maple with rosewood edge trim, a single-ring rosette in green abalone with a bound soundhole, a mother-of-pearl peghead inlay, a 4.5-mil full-body gloss finish, smoked nickel tuners, a rosewood pickguard and bone bridge pins with awabi (abalone) dots.
Limited Edition Taylor acoustics have become highly sought after by players and collectors. This is one of the more unique pieces we've seen. It's sure to go quickly, and since it was a one-time run, once this one is gone, it's gone!
