Fano Alt de Facto JM4 Bass Doghair with Gig Bag
In 2020, Fano expanded the Alt de Facto offering to include the JM4 bass. For those that don't know, this model is a favorite amongst bass players worldwide, and one of the best-selling platforms for Fano. As soon as we heard this, we knew we had to spec one out. After all, the Alt de Facto line is the cream of the crop. Since then, we've done a lot of ADF JM4's and all of them are winners. Perhaps none more so than this one.
We wanted a Swamp Ash body to really show the Doghair finish, and the luthiers at Fano knocked it out of the park. We honestly haven't seen a bass look like this, ever. The body was given the Light Distress treatment, so it has signs of wear but nothing major.
The first thing you'll notice is the amazing aesthetic, but rest assured that this bass sounds and feels as good as it looks. The JM4 incorporates a 34” scale length, 12” radius fretboard and an early-60’s C Shape neck that feels comfortable and familiar in your hands. We had the neck done with a medium distress level to give it more of a worn in feel. Fano does this as well as anyone, and we love the feel. Proprietary “FanoBird” bass pickups and a “HiMax” bridge that offers both top-load and string-through body options round it out. See below for the full list of specs.
For bass players that don’t mind a little attention, the JM4 is made to stand out, both visually and sonically. This bass gives you the feel of a vintage instrument, with modern features, with an original design and truly unique look. Any Fano Alt de Facto bass is going to be amazing, and this particular JM4 takes it to a new level.
Like all Fano Alt de Facto instruments, each JM4 is hand-built, one at a time from start to finish by one builder. This one was spec'ed out together by the head of Truetone and the head of Fano, collaborating to create a bass that hadn't been done before. This lightly distressed JM4 in the ultra cool Doghair finish is a one of a kind instrument and the only one out there right now. Get it here now before it's gone!
