 We were recently contacted by Hofner with an opportunity to get a very special bass - a custom made H500/1-3VP-BK-0 Artist Series Violin Bass.  It's a super cool take on their most legendary model, but with 3 pickups and in a sleek Black finish.

Hand-crafted in Germany from the finest materials, the bass represents Hofner's commitment to quality at it's best.  Composed of Flame Maple back & sides with a Spruce top, this set neck bass resonates wonderfully.  The Flame Maple neck with a rosewood fretboard is very comfortable, with Hofner's original neck shape and 30" scale length.  It's accented by white binding, pearl dots on the fretboard and a white pearl heel cap and matching pickguard.

What makes this bass truly unique is the triple pickup configuration - this is rarely seen.  Personally, with the way it sounds, we think it should be done more often!  The Hofner Diamond "toaster" pickups provide all of the classic round sound that these basses are famous for.  It's warm, it's woody, and it's unmistakable.  These pickups churn out the deep, rumbling lows and clear, singing highs.  The middle pickup that's exclusively on this model allows for more versality, providing a variety of tones.

The bass also features an Ebony bridge, Trapeze nickel tailpiece, and nickel tuners.  Of course, it comes equipped with flatwound strings.  A very nice deluxe Hofner case is included, as well as official paperwork and a Certificate of Authenticity.

We only have 1 of these, and only 6 were made - once they're gone, they're gone for good.  Now is the time to get it, before it's gone.
