Used And Vintage Electric Guitars

Up for sale for the first time is this amazing 1963 Gibson ES-175 in a beautiful Sunburst finish.  We say "for the first time" because it's a one-owner guitar, bought back in the day fresh off the wall at Sam Ash in New York in 1963, and held closely ever since.  It's a rare opportunity to find something like this on the market.

The ES-175 is quite possibly the most iconic archtop ever made, played on countless recordings, and performances. You get everything you want from this iconic instrument if what you desire is a vintage archtop with a ton of vibe.  A resonant body with carved maple top with laminated maple back and sides. An expressive mahogany set neck with a rosewood fingerboard beautifully adorned with parallelogram inlays and "crown" headstock. Stay in tune with its 70's Grover tuners, original bridge and tailpiece.  And most importantly, hear the full luxurious tone of this instrument with its original PAF humbucker pickup. These pickups are highly prized for their fantastic tone.

This wonderful instrument is all original except for its tuners and a strap button has been added to the neck heel. The real PAF pickups are original with unbroken solder joints on the covers.  From the nut to the tailpiece, everything is original, including the finish.  The original case went away years ago; this one has a nice, "correct" hardshell case with it.

Built in Kalamazoo in 1963, sold in New York City the same year, and now available in Santa Monica 60 years later - this guitar has some serious pedigree.  It's in impeccable condition considering its age.  One would be hard-pressed to find a vintage ES-175 cleaner than this.  The finish has aged nicely, with a beautiful patina, and while the photos look great, it's even better in person.

The guitar has been set up to play perfectly by our most experienced vintage tech, and is ready for the next owner.  For those wanting an amazing vintage archtop, this is it.
