Vintage 1965 Fender Bandmaster Head And 2x12 Cabinet

One of the most legendary amps of its time, Fender made the Bandmaster from 1953 to 1974.  Beginning in 1960, the amps were equipped with a vibrato effect.  Like other Fender amps, the Bandmaster evolved over the years, and remained a model that was put to go use by a variety of players.  This is from Eddie Van Halen (he used to run his blonde, early 60’s Bandmaster head into Marshall cabinets back when the band was playing the Sunset Strip) to Pete Townshend (his Gretsch 6120 into a ‘59 Bandmaster is all over the 1971 “Who’s Next” album).  The "Blackface" era of the piggyback head & cab ran from 1963 - 1967, and these are highly coveted.

This particular outfit came to us recently, and it's a great example of how amazing a Bandmaster rig can be.  First of all, it sounds downright amazing.  Whether you're holding it down with rhythm playing or taking center stage with leads, the classic AB763 circuit will serve you well.  Deep, sparkly clean tone and aggressive overdriven sounds are available, and you'll be able to cut through the mix.  40 watts of power, pumped through a 2x12 cabinet, will be enough for pretty much any gig.  It's big, harmonically rich tone is what vintage Fender tube amp dreams are made of.

The amp is all original - transformers, resistors, caps, and the speakers in the cabinet.  It's also in great shape, especially considering that it's over 50 years old.  There is some wear, as to be expected - please view all of the photos to see everything.
