Used Epiphone Joe Bonamassa Treasure Firebird Modified Polymist Gold With Gig Bag

What do you get with one of the coolest guitars ever made with one of the best blues players out there? This amazing Epiphone Joe Bonamassa Signature Firebird in Polymist Gold - and this one has been tweaked, altered and modified to be much more than what you would normally see out there.

The guitar just came to us from one of our long-time customers and friends that always brings in the good stuff.  This one is no exception.  Epiphone made it in 2016 as part of a limited edition run.  The guitar was closely modeled after Bonamassa's original 1963 Firebird, a rare single pickup version that was made in the first year of the model's production in Kalamazoo, MI.  But here we have one that's been modded to have a neck pickup, so instead of a Firebird I, we're calling it a Firebird Modified.

This Firebird features a Mahogany body with a 9-piece Laminated Mahogany/Walnut neck that has a period-correct early 1960s Rounded “C” profile measured after Joe’s original. Epiphone improved on the vintage neck design by including a dual action adjustable truss rod. The Firebird was the first electric guitar to feature “thru-neck” construction along with the iconic Reverse Firebird™ body shape.  The neck has 24.75” scale length, and is topped a Rosewood fingerboard with a 14” radius, 22 medium jumbo frets and classic “Dot” inlays.  The 60's Rounded C neck carve is super comfortable - it's a guitar you won't want to put down.

The pickups are the real difference makers, bringing killer vintage PAF era mini humbucker tone and feel. Modeled after a particularly great sounding set, Bobby Tyson made these to provide authentic Firebird tone.  You get a sweet and clear neck pickup, and bridge pickup with a perfect balance of mids and clarity.  Together, the end result is one of the best Firebird sets we've heard.

So if you're looking for a Firebird like this, with some seriously nice alterations, this is a great score. This Firebird is in excellent condition and has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  The special gig bag original to the guitar in included.  It's the whole outfit, and it's ready to get out there!
