We love the Fender Custom Shop here, especially what they do with basses.  We spec out a lot ourselves, but sometimes something spectacular comes in the door as a previously owned piece that takes the cake.  That's the case here.  This 1963 Precision Bass Heavy Relic is really something special.

The Alder body is light and resonant, not to mention comfortable thanks to the lush sweeping curves, and sports a gorgeous Aged Daphne Blue finish.  The bass has a Heavy Relic treatment, giving it the look and feel of a bass that's been around the world and back.  The instrument's aging will continue to evolve gracefully, developing additional character through use while enhancing the tonewoods' natural acoustic properties. This aging process significantly improves resonance and sustain characteristics by allowing the body to vibrate more freely. The meticulous relic work exhibits exceptional authenticity in its wear patterns, demonstrating masterful attention to historical accuracy in every checking pattern and worn edge.

This instrument features a meticulously crafted Quartersawn Maple neck with the distinctive 60 P-Bass Oval "C" profile, designed for optimal playability and ergonomic support.  It accommodates both foundational root note patterns and advanced technical passages in higher positions. 20 vintage frets and a period-correct 7.25" radius create an authentic experience that players will immediately recognize as historically accurate and exceptionally playable.

Equipped with a Handwound '62 Precision Bass pickup, this instrument delivers authentic vintage Fender tonal characteristics. The unmistakable signature Fender bass thump resonates with historical accuracy, providing the quintessential P-Bass foundation that defined countless recordings.

Period correct tuners, bridge and other hardware complete this killer bass.  Other features include a tortoiseshell pickguard, clay dots and a bone nut.

This bass is in excellent condition....it's a Heavy Relic so that's easy to say!  The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly.  The original hardshell case is included, as is the Certificate of Authenticity.
