Used And Vintage Amps

First introduced to the US market in April 2005, the AC-30CC2X was the AC-30 model that had, at that time, the most accurate "Beatle tone." The all tube, 30 watt amp also featured a baltic birch enclosure with all the Vox cosmetic touches: basket weave vinhyde, brown Vox diamond grill (or fret) cloth, gold piping. gold plated logo, gold grill molding, white grill piping, three Vox handles, and eight black plastic two pin corners.

The AC30CC2X utilized two 12" Vox Alnico Blue speakers, by Celestion. These are the same speakers that George and John used in their AC-30 amps in 1964. If "Beatle tone" is what you are after, it lives in a top boosted AC-30 with Vox Blue Alnicos, like the AC30CC2X.  The only difference between the AC30CC2 and AC30CC2X is the speakers.

The AC30CC2X is a 30-watt class A circuit using three 12AX7 preamp tubes, a 5AR4 rectifier tube, and four EL84 power tubes. Some major features were added to benefit the modern player, while retaining the classic AC30 tone. These include reverb, effects loop, and master volume. More subtle additions include a channel-combining switch, Brilliance switch in the normal channel, Standard/Custom switch for the top-boost tone controls, output bias switch, and a Smoothing switch (which changes the values of the filter caps). The latter two are on a back panel that also houses external speaker jacks, impedance selector switch, effects loop jacks, level and loop-bypass switches, and an input for the dual on/off footswitch for the reverb/tremolo.

This amp is in very good condition.  It has evidence of being used for what it was intended for - being played!  There are tears in the tolex, but nothing major.  We've vetted and tested it to good working order.

The AC30CC2X is that rarest of amplifiers through which all guitars sound great. It will please any AC30 lover, as well as most players who aren’t familiar with its tone. It has the legendary tone, and with its modern features, may be the best AC30 to date. Vox didn’t change the cake recipe, they just added more, and sweeter, frosting with this amp.  The model was discontinued in January, 2010 and has been hard to find ever since.  For those in search of a Vox with the most classic of tones, we have it right here!
