Limited Edition 20th Anniversary Blonde Vibro-King

Fender introduced the Vibro-King as a Custom Shop amp in 1993 to great acclaim, marking a return to a great hand-wired amp tradition while including a previously unavailable selection of sought-after features. In two decades since, guitarists and amp aficionados everywhere have prized the enduringly classic Vibro-King as one of the most touch-sensitive amps ever, with sparkling-clean shimmer at lower volumes and powerfully thick overdrive when cranked up. In 2013 Fender celebrated with the 20th Anniversary Vibro-King.  This Limited Edition version has been hard to get and in high demand ever since.

Fender and Jensen® collaborated on the amp’s trio of warmer-sounding 10” speakers, and a finger-joined premium birch cabinet increased resonance. Premium aspects include all-tube hand-wired circuitry on an eyelet board and Custom Schumacher® transformer.  It features pre-gain 63-style Fender Reverb with Dwell, Mix, and Tone controls, Tube Vibrato (tremolo), a Fat switch, and bass, treble & mid controls.

The Bruce Zinky-designed circuit wasn’t a reissue of a classic Fender tone machine, but rather a re-imagining of what a Fender amp could be using key elements of older amps. Unlike a lot of Fender’s most classic amps, the Vibro-King isn’t exactly a clean slate in the vein of a Twin Reverb. And at times, it’s a sensitive beast that bites back when provoked. There’s a lot of unmistakably vintage Fender tones on tap, and when combined with some washy Fender reverb and vintage-style vibrato, you can cover everything from raging surf to country twang to higher gain tones.  Over the years the circuit was and the amp evolved and became a favorite of legends such as Pete Townshend, Tom Petty, Gary Clark Jr.  It's truly a modern day classic.

We were lucky enough to get one of these recently, in the cool, classic Blonde color (only available as part of the 20th Anniversary run).  It's in great shape, recently re-tubed and serviced, and is ready to roll.  This is a rare amp and we're excited to have it here.  Come to Club Fender at Truetone Music to experience the magic of the Vibro-King today, or order right here.

**Due to the size and weight of this amp, we've marked it for Local Pickup Only.  If you are interested in having it shipped to you, please contact us directly.**
