This instrument is from the personal collection of the late Brad Pie who played guitar in the 1990’s with the great Johnny Otis. Along with Johnny’s sons - Shuggie Otis (Guitar) and Nicky Otis (Drums) - Brad contributed guitar to the 1992 Grammy-Nominated “Spirits of the Black Territory Bands” by the Johnny Otis & His Orchestra group. Many of the instruments from Brad’s collection are uniquely modified and come with various accessories. This one in has some custom knobs and switch tips, and comes with a nice a nice strap and gig bag.
The Schecter C-1 FR S Apocalypse is made with a resonant bound Swamp Ash body with an striking Rusty Gray finish that has a sleek arched top. You will love the feel of its set-neck composed of Maple/Padauk Multi-ply w/Carbon Fiber Reinforcement Rods for incredible stability with Ultra Access to the entire Ebony fingerboard. The neck has a Thin "C" neck shape with a 12"-16" compound radius. The Ebony fingeboard gives you 24 X-Jumbo Stainless Steel frets with a Mother of Pearl Triangle at 12th and 24th fret inlays with glow-in-the-dark side dots. You get a 25.5" scale length with a Floyd Rose 1500 Series nut with 1.625" (41.3mm) nut width.
The electronics of this Schecter C-1 FRS Apocalpyse are its most powerful and unique features. The bridge pickup is a Schecter USA Apocalypse-VI humbucker that provides thick tones perfect for clean or gain. The star of this guitar though is its Sustainiac humbucker pickup in the neck. While this active pickup gives you thunderous humbucking tone, it is its sustain functions that are its most unique tonal feature. The Sustainiac features different modes such as Fundamental, Mix ( a blend of the direct signal and upper harmonic tone) and Harmonic which is just the upper harmonic sustain. There is a 3-way pickup selector, Volume and Tone controls, and 3-way switch Sustainiac mode switch, and 2-Way On/Off Sustainiac switch. This gives you exceptional tonal versatility.
Last but certainly not least this guitar has impressive hardware with a Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge for expressive whammy bending with tuning stability. It has stylish matte black hardware and Grover tuners. It also tasty player upgrades with custom knobs and switches.
