Pre-Owned ZoZo Zebra Lacewood Custom - Natural With OHSC
For those that crave the unique, the different, the exquisite, we have a special find for you: this unbelievable custom-made ZoZo. Built by renowned designer and woodworker Thom Scott, it's unlike anything you've ever seen - and it's affordable too. His line of guitars (ZoZo Guitars) was conceived to create modern guitars with classic elements. They are easy to play, sonically superior and visually stunning. This one was built for a customer/friend of his in 2018. We are now excited to present it here.
The ZoZo Zebra Lacewood Custom highlights an exotic and natural wood aesthetic. The main calling card is the Australian Zebra Lacewood top over a chambered Cherry body. You can see the bold, dark longitudinal stripes across a golden-yellow base, while Lacewood adds a distinctive, shimmering "lace-like" flecked pattern. It has a clear finish that allows the raw grain, depth, and highly contrasting textures to show beautifully. The body shape is unique, and comfortable to play. It looks big at first but is easy to get around, and isn't too heavy - this guitar comes in at 7.4 lbs.
Interestingly the neck is Sitka Spruce, a wood you normally find on the tops of acoustic guitars, and it has a Tiete rosewood fretboard. The thick C shaped neck profile is comfortable - but it's not for the faint of heart/hand. It has 1.7" nut width, and a linear depth that 1.00" from the 1st - 12th fret. So, if you're looking for a skinny shredder, this isn't it. But if you like a bigger neck that's still easy to get around, this guitar is dream. It has a familiar 25" scale. The radius is 12.0" so it's easy to bend on, even in the higher register.
Instead of traditional plastic bobbins or nickel plating, the dual humbucking pickups are capped with custom wooden covers. This aesthetic touch seamlessly integrates the electronics into the body's natural woodwork while offering the classic, warm, hum-canceling tone expected of premium humbuckers, which are Alnico 5 Split Coil (12K Bridge / 10K Neck).
Other features include an innovate headstock design, custom bridge, and coil splitting push/pull pots on the tone controls (you have 2 tone 2 volume, plus a selector switch). And don't forget to check out the custom inlays on the fretboard - they're beautiful.
The guitar is great condition and comes with the original hardshell case. Setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, it's ready for it's next home.
