Used And Vintage Electric Guitars

This ES-330 from the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo is a classic, fully hollow thin-line player's dream.  Built in 1965, it has stood the test of time.  It features vintage Gibson P90 pickups with incredible warmth and presence. Its archtop design is among the most beloved in the world of guitars, and the tone is strong and distinctive.  Weighing in at just six pounds and with a very player friendly Slim C neck shape, it would be easy to use this all night on a gig.  It will be even easier to fall in love with it the first time it lands in your hands.

The ES-330 lineage goes back to 1936, when Gibson came out with their first Electric Spanish (ES) archtop guitar, the ES-150.  Over the years, new versions were released, evolution took its course, and in the seminal year of 1959, the ES-330 debuted.  By the mid 60's there was a music revolution in the works - that's when this one right here was built, in 1965.  What else happened that year?

The war in Vietnam was escalating, the Voting Rights Act passed, the St. Louis Arch was completed, and Muhammad Ali defeated Sonny Liston.  To get back on track, musically speaking, it's also the year that the Rolling Stones released Satisfaction, the Beatles came out with Help, and Bob Dylan dropped Like a Rolling Stone.  But don't forget Wooly Bully by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs!

And to get back to this guitar, which is what's really important.  The fully hollow laminated maple body has a gorgeous nitro lacquer Sunburst finish that looks perfectly aged with a really nice patina.  It's all original except for the following:
  • Pickups replaced by vintage Gibson P90's
  • Repro tuners (Schallers)
  • New wiring harness (including pots) so that it functions properly
  • Refret and new nut by Truetone's head luthier Paul Flynn
  • Non original case

The guitar has been setup to play perfectly, and is ready to go for another 60 years.
It would be a welcome addition to any vintage collection - come to Truetone Music to experience it today, or make it yours right now right here.
